2sheds Posted June 30, 2015 Author Posted June 30, 2015 Another great trip to the Little Piney ! Water was faster and higher than I had ever experienced. Fishing was fine, if not different than past summer visits. Campgrounds were a bit damp, and the ranger tried to talk me out of campsite on Thursday night before the big rain. If you look closely, you can see the subtle overnight difference in the river. Thursday, June 18 Friday, June 19 By Monday, June 22, all was clear enough again for fishing. Only 1 casualty - Ifell in the river and seriously injured my knee, making it very difficult to wade and balance a beverage at the same time. To make matters worse, I developed what my dermaologist has designated "Leeches on the Knee". He had informed me that there is only 1 recognized treatment. I will send the CC update when time permits. So I am to spend as much time as possible sitting in the river.
Johnsfolly Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 I didn't see the photo with the hat so I didn't recognize that 2Sheds made the post. 2Sheds where are you headed next, Spring and Mill creek or did you fish those already?
jtram Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 Screw leeches, I'm terrified. Nice looking water, good report.
jdmidwest Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 Thats what waders are for, leeches don't stick to them. I have had several latch onto me wading around the thick flowing water weeds. Only took a few to make me just put on a pair of waders. Interesting little critters, rubbery, stick like glue. Looks like the campground is still there. But like the last time I was by, a machete would help. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
Gavin Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 Wear waders down there. Not many ways to the water and tons of Poison Ivy.
