Well scored on a few yesterday morning. Pretty small and full of holes from worms, maggots or whatever gets in them. Had to clean them well. I know you should just brush off the dirt but with all this rain they were pretty dirty so under the facet they went. We did a simple butter and dill cook and ate them on crackers. Could not taste the worms but am sure we ate some of them also :) Protein!

Billet - I would be proud of a find like yours. I also don't mind a little extra protein with my meal.

I didn't get a chance to get out we had pretty severe weather on Sat. The road to one of my prime areas was washed out. I will have to get out and find some new areas this week.

Picked a bunch the last couple weekends. Seems like every time it rains the forest floor is covered with them. Yesterday I made some Chantrelle, onion and cheese drop biscuits to go with dinner. Very good. Last weekend I made a Chantrelle, ham, and cheese frittata ala RPS. It was good too. I appreciate the heads up on here. The last couple of years I've went to look for them when someone mentions Chantrelles on this website.

Found twenty more chants yesterday hoping we get some rain they were looking kind of dry. Also do the trumpets grow in same places or is there a specific way To target them? I'm looking to be a mycologist after all the mushrooms I have found this year lol

What's the season for these?

Roughly through august but with the rain if the temps stay around 90 it may last longer. I think they usualy dry up rather han temp getting too hot because the saying is if your not sweating its not hot enough, but thats just my two cents and the little bit of reasearch ive done. This is my first year hunting them.

Not sure when the season is ness, maybe we are poaching? I would venture to say we are way over our possession after todays hunt :)
