Quillback Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 Considering they started dumping water on Tuesday, that is a pretty impressive rise, and the graph is still pointed up. Should be a good year for fry survival.
dtrs5kprs Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 Considering they started dumping water on Tuesday, that is a pretty impressive rise, and the graph is still pointed up. Should be a good year for fry survival. If they spawned. Those stories about fish with eggs in June, and some we caught that sure looked that way, might be a downer in the end.
Quillback Posted June 19, 2015 Author Posted June 19, 2015 Hard for me to make judgements based on what I see, but most of the fish I've caught over the last month appeared to be spawned out. Seen a few fat spots, but hard to know if they are fat because they are full of eggs, or fat from eating well. Could just be an upper end thing.
Quillback Posted June 19, 2015 Author Posted June 19, 2015 Going to be hot and humid next week, all this water will start evaporating, going to be fun fishing in that stuff. Trying to think of other conversational topics besides catch and kill vs, catch and release. I think we have beat that one to death. Might be some stripers coming into TR with the flood gates getting re-opened. Muddy Water and jtram 2
5bites Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 Lol! Trying to get off the kill thing and stripers come up! Hahahaha! I think you should be waypointing me some good willow trees. That's waaaaaaay more fun than actual fishing.
Quillback Posted June 19, 2015 Author Posted June 19, 2015 Hmmmm, you're right - forget the part about stripers. I wonder if the deep drop shot bite will go away with this change in the water level?
Alex Heitman Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 Quill I don't think the deep bite will go away. I think they would stay put or maybe move to the bottom more instead of being suspended over 80 ft of water. I would be flipping the brush and willows though close to deep water and throwing a deep crankbait with all the current. abkeenan 1
Quillback Posted June 19, 2015 Author Posted June 19, 2015 Thanks for the tips Alex. I've been thinking of dragging the deep cranking stick out just for the heck of it. But it's one of those things that if I don't get a bite in about 15 minutes, it gets put down.
WeekendWarrior Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 If they spawned. Those stories about fish with eggs in June, and some we caught that sure looked that way, might be a downer in the end. Caught one this week on LOZ that I accidently ripped a gill and didn't make it. When I cleaned it still had eggs.
