fishinwrench Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Indian gave up this one and a few 15-16's today, along with about a dozen shorts. The best bite for me was in 2-3' and 88°, couldn't get the deeper brushpile fish to bite at all.
Old plug Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Wrench ------You been having some fun this year. Been anything but good for me. I think I spend more time wondering how much water is in the boat than anything else besides running the bilge pump. Looking forward to geting a new keel in the fall when they can get to it.
fishinwrench Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 That row of docks back in Indian that you can't get a boat behind drives me crazy. What a sanctuary!
Old plug Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 I know where that is at I remember fishing there with you one time. A good place to loose a lower unit or prop if your not careful getting to it.
nomolites Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 I generally stop at the last channel break downstream of that bank about 1/4 mile, same side as I usually am not after bass There was quite a bit of green snot going already up there in April but I did catch a bunch of nice crappie prespawn from that drop off. The back end is certainly a popular spot early in the year and every Sat. AM you can watch the glitter sleds going by headed up to that mud flat. Good on you for fishing it this late, I am generally out deep from June-Oct. Mike Old plug 1

It is no place for my Deep v Targa. That sort of a flat on the upside of Indoan Creek at the mouth has been good to me at times in the past. I tend to have trouble pitching for very long anymore. I never did have the total patients and concentrarion to work a area the way wrench does. Not to mention I am clumsey and create noise in the boat without even knowing it.
fishinwrench Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Yeah it's very peaceful back there, no waves to brace for all day, zero company. Just me, the bass, and the turtles.
Members Omega jig bass Posted June 27, 2015 Members Posted June 27, 2015 Would anybody know why a reel would over run even with brakes and spool tension really tight.
Members NianguaMark Posted June 27, 2015 Members Posted June 27, 2015 Would anybody know why a reel would over run even with brakes and spool tension really tight. No that is why I replaced my bait caster I spent more time fixing backlashes then fishing with it very frustrating
fishinwrench Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 If it has centrifugal beads then you may have one sheared off or just stuck. Tear into it. Had a good day today! Wanted to fish some deeper stuff but the water was just too dang rough out there, plus there was PIRATES afloat... We stuck some nice ones back in the calm shallows and had alot of fun.
