Clay Goforth Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 A young guy caught this brute on the Norfork last weekend. 20.9lbs, 33". Fish was caught on a worm and powerbait combo. Fish was kept and is being mounted. Congratulations on the catch. Feel like I should mention, I had nothing to do with this catch. Just wanted to share the information because I hadn't seen anything about it on the forum. laker67 1 Clay Goforth=4px> Trophy Anglers Guild www.TrophyAnglersGuild.com "Happiness resides not in possessions and not in gold; the feeling of happiness dwells in the soul." - Democritus
Members Mac's Orphan Posted July 8, 2015 Members Posted July 8, 2015 Nice fish - it's a shame he kept it - JMO... If I'd known I was gonna live this long, I would have taken better care of myself...
ollie Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 BEAST!!! That is a huge brown in anyone's book. "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
Members Ccox1982 Posted July 8, 2015 Members Posted July 8, 2015 What a toad! Very nice looking fish.
Greasy B Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Another good example of how special the White River tailwaters are. His father touches the Claw in spite of Kevin's warnings and breaks two legs just as a thunderstorm tears the house apart. Kevin runs away with the Claw. He becomes captain of the Greasy Bastard, a small ship carrying rubber goods between England and Burma. Michael Palin, Terry Jones, 1974
Lancer09 Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Nice fish - it's a shame he kept it - JMO... Agreed. Especially when a replica mount looks as good or better than a skin mount anyway. I don't mind people keeping stocker trout, 15 inch bass or any other "keepers" really, but I hate seeing a true Trophy taken out of a fishery. Clay Goforth, Seth and Mac's Orphan 3

Members n2trout Posted July 14, 2015 Members Posted July 14, 2015 Awesome fish and I'd have kept it too.
Members Otis Roostertail Posted July 17, 2015 Members Posted July 17, 2015 Been having a debate with my son. I would have released it. My son would have released it into grease. As I told him, If I have a huge 12 point deer on the farm, I will leave him and take the eight...Or If I have a non-typical I will take him. I think the same holds true with fish. I will get some good photos and if I want a mount, I will order a replica from my photos. Men and Fish are alike....They all get into trouble when they open their mouths....
