Old plug Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 This plastic worm went out of production about 12 to 15 years ago. I was fore warmed they were going to and I bought 400. I am now down to about 60 or so. These came out the same time as the ring worms did. I think if I am correct they were made by a outit in texas. I sure would like to find a maker today. If your not familiar with this worm they were made in 2 sizes. I think one was about 8" and the other was 9/1/2 " . On the end of a line popped around like a shakey head they would make a shakey head look like a stick. have popped them and they would almost turned themselves into a knot. I think you remember these don't you Wrench. I used to vuy them up at the old pro bass at 5 and O.
Flatbottom Boy Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Old Plug....I bet you can make a mold yourself fairly easy. Or send it to the fella at swing oil baits and see if he will whip you up some.
fishinwrench Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Those are Guido Ringers. They were made by Luck-E-Strike in Cassville. The camoflage 9" Ringer was my favorite for a long time.
Old plug Posted July 10, 2015 Author Posted July 10, 2015 I think I am going to talk to Ed tomorrow I know the Hivdons been trying to get started in the fishing lure bussiness. let him take it up with Guido or Dion. If not we still got James Dill here in town with his Crock-O-Gator company
fishinwrench Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Those rings make for a slower fall and I used to like that, but anymore I want my stuff to fall faster. Seems like I get more bites on a fast sinking worm than I do on one that flutters down slowly.
DADAKOTA Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Ya'll remember the Big Wag worms? Absolute killer dirty water bait.

Old plug Posted July 10, 2015 Author Posted July 10, 2015 Yeah it had a slow drop wrench. It is the worm that really opened my eyes to that. Have never used a 1/2 oz weight on that worm or any orher, and I do not even own one. Only fault I ever found with it was the smallness of that head. I would like to see that head made about 11/4 inches long. I think I am going to try it on a drop shot rig next week. Have hot been using them for awhile.
moguy1973 Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Lake Fork makes a similar one, not sure if the tail is as long though and the head is definitely different shaped: http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Lake_Fork_Worm/descpage-LFWORM.html This place still carries Luck-e-Strike original ringers: http://www.tackleexperts.com/luck-strike-original-ringer-p-113046.html?osCsid=8bc86be3aae7d59f2bf2bde5d98a55c4 -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
Old plug Posted July 10, 2015 Author Posted July 10, 2015 That is exactly what I am looking for. I will buy a couple packs when I make my annual splurge to Taxkle warehouse. This is the very first time I have seen them antwhere. If the tail is a bit shorter It would not matter that much anyway. I like those boucy rings
