Members Otis Roostertail Posted July 12, 2015 Members Posted July 12, 2015 Just bought new vest at Bass Pro. My old one was a Gander Mountain fishing/kayak. I am not ready to go to the auto inflaters yet....Having worn the vest this weekend I am very happy with the fit and price. You need to order one size larger than you actually wear though...Run $44.99 + tax Men and Fish are alike....They all get into trouble when they open their mouths....
Ham Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 I've had a couple for years. I agree on the sizing issue. Cabela's offers a very similar product. I think Cabela's has theirs on sale right now. Everyone needs to check their PFDs every now and again. Tehy need to be in good shape. When you need it, you REALLY need it to be in working condition, Daryk Campbell Sr 1 Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
fishinwrench Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 My 100mph vest is suffering from mildew and sun exposure, I really should replace it but those suckers ain't cheap anymore. I'm not sure I'd trust the one above.
dave potts Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 I'm like Wrench. What's there to keep you afloat? Looks like just a regular flyfishing vest from the picture.

I've floated around in mine cooling off in multiple states at this point. Work's great That's not the vest I wear in my BassCat nor would I recommend it for > 40 HP outboards. grizwilson 1 Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Members rhondafish Posted July 15, 2015 Members Posted July 15, 2015 Seda Brand Vests always. In Canoe or in the Big Lake boat.
Members Otis Roostertail Posted July 16, 2015 Author Members Posted July 16, 2015 This is definitely not a high speed vest. Riverboat, kayak, canoe, low speed pontoon, etc. It will definitely keep you afloat though. Ham 1 Men and Fish are alike....They all get into trouble when they open their mouths....
Bass Yakker Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 I purchased a vest very similar to this one only it doesn't have the pocket/storage stuff on the front. I later went to Surplus City in Springfield and got an ammo pouch and another small pouch to put on the front of it for storage. Probably didn't save that much money doing it that way but just another way to skin a cat. The vest works pretty good though although it's the first one I've owned so I don't have much comparison. I use it on a kayak.
