fishinwrench Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 What happened over there, straight line blast or a twister?
Old plug Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 Wrench that photo remends me of the that thing they called a burst went through here a couple years back. thats my guess because there are not boats flipped in the photo.
nomolites Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Looks like sh!t happened to me...hate to see that anywhere. I remember years ago Blue Anchor at LOZ got wrecked like that; my brother was on the water near Gladstone at the time laying face down and clinging to the rails of a pontoon and he said it was one hell of a ride. Be OK with me if we don't see any more of that luck!
Old plug Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 We have had 4 close by in the 25 yrs I been here. The worst one was that thing that took everything Wrench had and scatered it all over morgan county. . And I mean it cleaned him out. Nothing knocked down eveything just gone. He was very very lucky to survive that.
oneshot Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Ok when did this happen? Got our Cabin off 83HWY hopping it is ok. oneshot
fishinwrench Posted August 6, 2015 Author Posted August 6, 2015 It was last night, Oneshot. Not sure what happened, I just got sent the pic this morning.
oneshot Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Ok I was having trouble figuring where it is. Seems it is well away from our Cabin and was isolated even at the Resort. Like I told my wife winds come across these waters and there is no stopping them. Saying Prayers for them. oneshot
MOPanfisher Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 The hills and coves around the lakes can funnel those downdrafts into some impressive blasts of wind. I hadn't heard about Sterrett Creek's damage.
MOPanfisher Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 The marina received significant damage to Dock #5 and heavy damage to the roof and support structures. No other docks nor out buildings received any damage. The good news if there can be is that the dock did not flip and the boats remained upright. There will be a lot of work in carefully removing the storm damaged roof from the top of the boats. No reports of anyone missing or injuries to the public.
