cwc87 Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 so going fishing from 10 am to 7:3o pm in a canoe without any human contact is really what I like to do this time of year. The fish are getting grouped up and with some stealth the action can be nonstop. Top water and a wacky rig is all it takes for smallmouth fishing. My trip started slow but as the habitat got better the fish numbers climbed. Yes, logjams where encountered but to get away from people it's worth it. Omg I'm still in a haze from the much needed fishing therapy I endured. Mitch f 1
MOPanfisher Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 I love fishing slow, quiet and alone. Amazing how in years past I would work it like a job, anymore I am likely to sit down on a nice log, or rock and light a cigar and simply enjoy life. Mitch f 1
cwc87 Posted August 8, 2015 Author Posted August 8, 2015 Tears of joy come thru my eyes cause of the happiness that fishing trips like yesterday brings me. Even though I fish as hard as I can as i get older I don't take these trips for granted.
Mitch f Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 I'm jealous of people who love to fish alone, I can do it but just don't enjoy it as much as being with someone. I love the dialog Daryk Campbell Sr 1 "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
MOPanfisher Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Don't get me wrong I prefer fishing with a buddy or two however there are times when the single wading trip just speaks to your soul. I am pretty sure it isn't about fishing on those trips, just time off. Little thing like laughing out load at a squirrel that fell off a limb into the creek, or getting chased by a momma hereford because you passed too close to her calf. The landowner who spots you and comes down to give you a ride back to your truck, along with a sack of cucumbers to take to your mom and dad. Nah I am pretty sure most of those weren't about the fishing.

I love the dialog Well if I'm ever fishing with you and you start humming "Duke of Earl" you'll be fishing alone the rest of the day. Mitch f 1
Mitch f Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Well if I'm ever fishing with you and you start humming "Duke of Earl" you'll be fishing alone the rest of the day. LOL, well I'll speed up the cadence for you and hum "Walk this way" by Aerosmith? Hey, now that I think of it......was that song about walking the dog??? trythisonemv Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Fishing is the only time I can be solo and not feel alone, the only time I can truly clear my head and de-stress from the woes that life slings at me. Fish don't care about sales projections or labor budgets. They dont concern themselves with anything but food and survival. That is why I fish alone mostly. Now time and again it is great fun to take a friend out and show them how wonderful the stream is. Too share secret spots and catch up on the thongs we've missed in our lives apart. Truthfully, solo is more relaxing for me though.

MOPanfisher Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 I was hearing "fat bottom girls make the world go round" when I read that typo.
