Alittle late but had to brag :)..So my oldest cooper turned 7 this week. He's been bugging me about tournament fishing for years. I always said " when you turn 7 you can go with daddy." Well the time has come we gave him 10 different things we could do. All was kids things example going to the tulsa aquatic center. The last thing was fishing the fish tales tournament out of kimberling city. We'll without hesitation he smiled and said "duh daddy we are fishing." Proud daddy moment.

So we got up super early and on the way to mill creek he said "daddy I'm the hippest birthday boy in the world this morning".  Got there we launched the boat and headed to port of kimberling.  Got there and got signed up. Talked to some really nice guys and heard all kinds of awesome storys about there first tournament experience while cooper sit there starie eyed. I could tell he was eating this up.

Time to let out we were boat 38 a moment I'll never forget he took his camo champion hat off his head and said "daddy let's do this". Smiling the whole time the look on his face I can't explain it. He was hooked.

Got to the james river stopped at our first stop nothing. Then we got to our second stop he was throwing a jig I was throwing a top water. I caught one keeper he helped me net it. He said "daddy only 3 more keeper bites". Like he's been doing this 10 years lol. We'll we ran around catching short fish all day he also caught his first white bass. This was a another daddy son moment I WILL NEVER FORGET.

Got back to the weight in and of course I was going to let him weight his first keeper in a torney in. The guy on the stage pulled him up and asked several question he passed with flying colors. Guy did u catch this keeper? Cooper nope daddy. Guy did you help daddy net it? Cooper yep. Guy what did your daddy catch it on? Looks at me smiled and said a spinnerbait lol.

I'm truly a lucky man and very blessed. Please take time to shake and man or women in uniform and please teach C&R.
