I've got to teach my children to hold on to some of the good things, but also grasp many of the new things. I also think it's important to travel outside the U.S., and show them how the rest of the world operates. It's a tough balancing act, being a parent in today's world.

Yes, growing up I was told to keep everything legal that you could.  It meant you were a good fisherman and you could provide for your family.  Wow, there goes Ollie with another stringer of bass or trout.  Didn't matter to me as long as I was catching my limit.  I really thought for years that was what made a good fisherman.  I haven't eat fish in so long I can't remember when.  Point is I didn't know any better and that was the way I was raised.  I didn't know it took that long for a smallie to reach 15", there seemed to plenty in there for everyone or that was the mindset.  If that guy did take the smallies illegally then he is a #$^*.  If legal then I won't say a thing.  Not my business.

Firing up a charcoal grill inside your house is perfectly legal.  It's also a really stupid thing to do, and I'll advise someone that I see doing it that it is best not to.
