Exactly what it means.  This year I haven't been out as much as I like and when I have been it's been tough for me.  Last year I was slaying them left and right and this year it seems like I can't buy a bite!  Of course it doesn't help that the only time I get to go is on the weekend and this year we have seen a LOT of rain on the weekends along with cold front after cold front.  Just wanted to see who else has sucked this year!  misery loves company you know.

Right there with you. Haven't been out as much as what I had planned. Tried to start the year off in a big way and spent a 3 day fishing trip sitting on a couch after a big slip and fall within a couple of hours of arriving. Hasn't got much better since then. Bring on 2016!!

Consider yourself lucky (lol).  Being retired I fish tablerock at least 4 times a week.  I consider a decent day as a fish for every 1/2 hr on the water.  Try a fish about every 2 hrs since July.  Fish from Roaring river to Kings.  Fishing in this section of the lake picking up pretty good.

I guess to be in a funk, you have to actually fish, right? So by technical terms I am not in a funk other than the fact I have only been on the river 1 time this year...yep only once.

Worst year I have ever had for my free time somehow vanishing. It seems that all my spring trips were washed out, my summer trips were hampered by work and my fall trips by personal obligations.

Maybe I need to spend some time getting my priorities straight for next year, lol!

I started breaking my funk in August.  I got out and started fishing, something I did not have a chance for all spring and most of the summer because of weather and other things.  I have had 3 trips to Montauk for trout, 4 trips to TN for smallies and trout, heading to Ark. Spring River this weekend, and have a trip in the middle of the month to Jack's Fork and Current.  Probably finish out Oct fishing for trout at Montauk and upper Current River.  May sneak in another weekend trip or 2 with the family in the off weeks.

Fishing has been great.  Several trout over 2 lbs at Montauk, 18 and 19 in fat smallies and a 100 trout day in TN.  A nice fat 3lb largemouth while fishing for smallies in TN, my buddy caught a 5lb largemouth the same day, on a river, not a lake.  I was able to fish some new waters, Center Hill Lake and tailwater (Caney Fork) too.  Just a little bonus, sure beats beating the water to a froth on a lake or stream I have fished alot before.  Going back to TN before the year is over to try another lake and tailwater down near Chatanooga.

Top it all off, nice weather for camping.

Kinda a "funk" Plenty of times out, no "skunks" but really small fish compared to last year. High water? Who knows why. Also can't find a crappie anywhere. So no complaints, blessed to fish this wonderful lake when I want. Just a "funk". But falls comin'.

Been in a small fish funk myself much of this year. Pretty much every trip I go I can bring in a few Green Sunfish. Problem is, most of the time that's all I catch, and even then not big for Green Sunfish even. Wish I start getting on some decent sized fish on a regular basis again.

I've been fishing twice since June. That's what got me in a funk.

I guess I should have made it clearer that I have been in a funk over smallies and largies!  I don't usually fish for the slime rockets until around this time of the year or I think I would be ok.  For some reason I seem to have no problems catching those.  Knock on wood!  lol
