bkbying89 Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Looking to buy a set of waders for fishing the trout parks and into the late fall. Any suggestions around the $200.00 mark.
Gavin Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Breathable stocking foots with a pair of boots. Probably Cabelas at that price point. Ham and bkbying89 2
moguy1973 Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 If you have an Academy nearby, they have great prices on waders and boots. bkbying89 1 -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
jtram Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Redington, look for some closeout or big sale sonic pro's. They are super sweet IMO bkbying89 1
bkbying89 Posted January 13, 2016 Author Posted January 13, 2016 Failed to get back and tell you that I snagged a great deal on a pair of Sonic Pro's and Simm's Freestone boots as well. Extremely happy with them so far. I have used them at least once a week since they arrived. I should also mention the Reddington wader pants, these are great. It's life fishing in your P.J.s. Thanks for your suggestions, Bill (bkbying89)
fshndoug Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 The old adage You get what you pay for is true when it comes to waders.I own a pair of orvis sonic welded guide waders that cost over $400 dollars. You can fish in them 12 hours and never know you have them on.Cheap is not the way to go on waders. If at all possible try to get a really good pair and you will not regret it.I don't have a lot of money I spend it once and seldom sorry I went with something more expensive. The great thing about Orvis is their great return policy if you have any problems, that alone is worth the extra money Ham 1

Sounds like you did good. bkbying89 1 John
fshndoug Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 I had a previous pair of orvis guide waders that started leaking, returned them to orvis with a return order. They upgraded me to their newest guide wader which cost a hundred dollars more for no charge.Mind you my waders I returned were not at all abused, just started leaking.i don't think one could complain about that service.
bkbying89 Posted January 14, 2016 Author Posted January 14, 2016 ness, I read a lot of reviews Yellowstone Angler Did a shoot-out on waders and while the Redington did not finish at the top they sounded good for the money. I have used them about a dozen times and they are comfortable and dry. I was about to buy the Freestones, Feather-craft had them at a good price but they were gone before I could pull the trigger. I hope they last awhile, I would hate to go to the boss and tell her the great deal I got wasn't so good after all.
