Nice fish! It's the Hagen Hog Trough. Bought $20. But the don't float. Fill the back with spray foam then shave it off. Kinda the standard for a catch, photo release, tourney. Looks like Ritchie has measured his fish well. Nose touches front. hand ID for the day #6, and a game day issued photo identifier in the photo (the postcard). Catch, Photo, Release tourneys are easier than you think they are! Weigh ins will soon be on the way out. Length is a better indicator of quality anyway. Eliminates lead sinkers and ice.

CPR is great for small club events where big money isn't involved, but we are nowhere near moving away from standard weigh-ins with the bigger events. Aside from the "gotta see it for it to be so" mentality, weigh-ins are increasingly about exposure for sponsors of the tournament and the anglers.

Tournament organizations like to boast about their live-release rates being at or near 100%. Granted, livewell systems are state of the art these days and anglers who take the time to properly care for their catch probably do no harm most of the time. But we will never truly answer the question of delayed mortality. As long as all fish were last seen alive, tournament organizers will claim 100% live release.

Gitnby, I need to take a picture of it fully loaded.  I haven't done that yet.  I have a Jackson Coosa HD with a pwc trailer to pull it.  I will try to remember to snap a pic next time I'm out to show you.  Where are you out of?  You need to join up with our group at Show Me Kayak Fishing.  Great group of guys and a great tournament circuit.  This was my first year and I loved every minute of it.  You can learn more by going to http://showmekayakfishing.org.  Let me know if you have any questions.

For those of you looking to buy a hog trough, I found the 1/2" foam tubing you can buy at Lowe's works great for putting in the little troughs on the back of it and gluing it in for making it float.  I saw this idea online and it fits perfectly and looks great.  Just another idea for you.

Many men go fishing all of their lives without knowing that it is not fish they are after.

I have a house and slips near the 13 bridge, and fish out of an Old Town 10', which is small for fishing, but I manage.

It's a sit-in model, which is a little restrictive, but I manage.

Have 2 removable rod holders installed, and I use some cord and an old 5 lb hand weight for an anchor/depthfinder, when I need it.

small plastic tackle box that I secure with velcro on the floor between my legs.

Nothing like catching a good smallie, up close and personal, in a kayak!

We carry the Hawg Trough at the shop on Indian Point and sell it for 17.99.  They are a great fishing accessory and are better than any other bump board on the market. Though as previously stated they don't float but the spray foam statement can fix that or in a kayak simply tether it.  But there is no reason to order one online when you can pick them up locally and support local business.  Great job Tyy and it was a pleasure seeing you progress this year in the sport.
