Terrierman Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 Never had a problem with Kayakers, but a guy on a 10 speed bike in the main traffic, slowing everyone else down makes me a little crazy. Hey you're talking about me.
Champ188 Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 Hey you're talking about me. Do you wear Spandex and a Tour de France jersey? Mitch f and Deadstream 2

dtrs5kprs Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 Spandex yes. TDF jersey no. Just a regular t shirt. Just stick to the overalls in the boat. Champ188 1
Members Jan_Z Posted October 24, 2015 Members Posted October 24, 2015 Just a thought or two here... I've got no problems with Yaks or jet skis IF they are operated with some caution and civility, the same goes for boaters. I've had more problems with boaters over the years than I've had with any other craft on the water I won't go near a lake with a tournament going on as I've had far too many "Pros" that don't understand fishing etiquette and giving the other guy some room. Now the bad news for some, you are legally responsible for your wake if you were to decide to assault a yakker, jet ski, or another boater, this would include float tubers, using your wake as the weapon you've just assaulted a person with intent to do harm and could find yourself in a lot of very expen$ive legal trouble. And if they died through your actions you'd get to have that on your conscience for the rest of your days. Fishin4Fun 1

Old plug Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 In Missouri you would be legally responsible for assault. Not the wake. But then there is the proving it. A wave runner designed to run wakes for fun. I have had trouble a few times with wave runners. But then around around here they self assault them selves.
Billfo Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Just seen this topic.. I was out that day there were about 9 Kayaks around the Beaver bridge. I thought it was pretty cool. I sat & watched them for a while and decided I would leave & fish elsewhere. Spoke to a couple of guys & they were just fine, but ONE guy turned sideways in my path under the bridge & refused to move when I wanted to leave the area & pass under the bridge. I chock it up to him having a bad day. I am flexible and am learning to let things slide. However, I can see someone else hammering the throttle & teaching that guy some manners... Every situation is different, ever changing variables, boats, kayaks, people, moods... it is a big lake. Is it really worth it- from either point of view ? Picking ones battles.
