rFisherk Posted November 4, 2015 Posted November 4, 2015 Share pictures of your fly boxes. Think I carry too many flies?
Lancer09 Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 I've come to the realization that I have way to many flies, I guess I need to get hung up more and lose a few of them. Normal trout box side A: Side B: Hoppers: Night time Taney box side A: Side B: Fish pond sushi roll that I typically carry (easier to move flies in and out of it): Drying pad on the back of the boat box: Streamers in my boat box: Random few flies in an easy to carry plano: White bass flies: Typical warm water box: I have flies stashed in my pack, and in a few other boxes or containers that are always bouncing about, but those are the main boxes I may have with me on any given trip. bs1827 1
Lancer09 Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 Sorry to anyone on a phone. I tried resizing the pictures but I guess they did not save.
fishinwrench Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 I'd have spread mine out on the kitchen floor to get a pic of them all. Let's not go there. Lancer09 and BilletHead 2
BilletHead Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 Like wrench said and then I would have to stand on the table elevated to get the picture of them to get them all in the photo. Too dangerous. Add to that Mrs. BilletHead would be stealing stuff out of my boxes. Oooh that one is pretty. I bet that would catch a fish :) Lancer09 1 "We have met the enemy and it is us", Pogo If you compete with your fellow anglers, you become their competitor, If you help them you become their friend" Lefty Kreh " Never display your knowledge, you only share it" Lefty Kreh "Eat more bass and there will be more room for walleye to grow!" Greasy B Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 Every now and then I'll have a box that's nice and organized but that doesn't last long. Typically my fly boxes are in some state of chaos. Foghorn Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 The Mrs. has so many stashed in the 5-6 boxes she carries it's hard to get an accurate count. She lost a a box that had all scud patterns in it so now she has pretty much the same flies-eggs,scuds, beads, etc in each box. If she looses one box,she can go to the next one and not be out of her favorite fly. Couple of guys showboating around her at Taneycomo were quizzing her on her gear. "No she didn't normally use an indicator and yes she had somewhere in the vicinity of 7-800 flies in those boxes." They backed out of the stream after about 15" and her having them down 3-1 on fish.

XP 590 Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 How about we post pics of our fly tying areas? I'll match anybody's chaos mess for mess.
