I heard a rumor the owner is in trouble with taxes? Anyone know what happened to Bassboatcentral.com forum? (BBC)

I know some guys that are probably just beside themselves that they are not able to tell someone how much knowledge they have and what prop to use.  Lol!!

They had some DOS attacks a few weeks ago, then this.  The "for sale" section is still active as far as I can tell, but the forum is kaput.

I don't miss it.  Just curious as to what happened.  I don't know what a DOS attack is but.....it sounds serious.  I read on Walleye Central that it could have been hacked and the board sponsors were NOT happy because of loss of income around Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals they were offering.  Paying top dollar for ad space and then not getting the ads.  BBC owes a refund for ad space or credit I'd say.

Thier servers were attached and are down. I use the lowrance form a lot on BBC and it has been very helpful for me.

For those truly missing THAT place, here is a better alternative....

Scream and Fly doesn't have near the fishing chatter that BBC has though. I go to BBC for the fishing related stuff, not the lounge. The electronic sections have been one of the best assets to me for learning the ins and outs of my graphs. It's very helpful to read about others reviews when it comes to purchasing tackle. You get a pretty idea about what's good and what sucks.

Just stay out of the lounge and the place becomes a lot more enjoyable. That goes for a most forums though in my experience.

That's unfortunate on several levels. For all the irritation it caused, it was a good place to get DIY and troubleshooting info, especially brand specific. I've fixed a lot of problems thanks to some of the more knowledgeable folks there.

Must be a lot of guys sitting home in their jerseys looking at blank screens...
