Went down to Aunts to check out the level this morning and it was over the road and the first ramp. Went down this afternoon and the gates are closed.

I replaced my trolling motor rope with a vinyl-coated, stainless steel cable today. Even with the lift assist on the Minn Kota Fortrex, the rope eventually breaks. Sick of it.

Went to Home Depot and got the cable and crimp ends for less than $5. Used the existing T-handle. Beats the heck out of paying $30 for the fancy one from Tackle Warehouse ... no offense intended to anyone who went that route. They do look nice, but so does the one I made.

Man if it keeps raining you guys will be able to put in somewhere near Springfield and fish every mail box to the dam! We were lucky and only got 5" of snow....+ 30 MPH wind.

Champ - I have been thinking of doing the same thing.....what did you crimp the end with?

Lot of guys have been using parachute cord for the trolling motor rope.

I know everything about nothing and know nothing about everything!

Hope the water does not get up in the campground at Aunts like in 2008 or 20011? Might get higher then that???

I believe it already has if I looked at the lake levels correctly. It is almost identical to 2011 levels.
