Members Golf Pro Posted December 29, 2015 Members Posted December 29, 2015 I will be most curious what the water temps will be. Could influence what I would try. But guessing I would start with a blade.
Champ188 Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 One thing to always keep in mind when LM go shallow in high water is you MUST get your lure all the way to the bank. You can pick off the occasional swimmer working the outside edges of the bushes but by far the majority of the fish are going to be very close to the bank. Don't ask me why. I've just learned that's what they do. dtrs5kprs, Ranger Z22, Ham and 1 other 4

I've just learned that's what they do. Beck told me they do it at TR because of all the green worms washed in/flooded out. This was during the 2011 Easter flood. The banks were covered with a more or less nightcrawler looking worm, about 6"-8" long, and basically a nice custom green pumpkin color. Said he had caught them on jigs and blades during high water before that were full of those worms, mouth, gills, all over.

Members BearFisher10 Posted December 30, 2015 Author Members Posted December 30, 2015 Well I ended up getting out. Fished the dam area from 12:30-4. Water temp was 54 the whole time. Caught a handful with two keepers. Flipped shallow and also caught some schooling and busting the surface. Got a bit cold but it was nice to get out. Debris was nonexistent in the main lake and minimal in the creek arms around the dam area. I'm sure some will come down eventually but it was clear today. Clarity hasn't really been effected yet either besides the backs of the creeks. Not muddy but a nice green tint. Here's a pic of the best one. It went 3.5 on the dot and was loaded with shad. cheesemaster 1

It's still perfectly able to handle launching a boat, just moved a couple logs out of the way and it was good to go. You'll have to beach your boat on the ramp though unless they move the courtesy docks anytime soon or you can climb 3 or so feet up onto them. They pulled them up really high.
marcus Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 if i were u i would get in the deer stand not the boat
