J-Doc Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 I don't know of a bass guide but there are some. That's why I like striper fishing. Half of a tarpon fight and available on my home lake. Won't wear me out like a tarpon but a heck of a fight! ;-) Tackle two tarpon in a day and your done. Lol! Its an amazing feeling in your hands to have 80-100lb braid ripping out like you just set the hook on a garbage truck. ;-) Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. snagged in outlet 3 Posted March 23, 2016 Author Posted March 23, 2016 I am booked with captain Steve Waugh tomorrow and Friday I'll report the results. Lunch today ar key lime bistro on captiva a block from the mucky duck. I don't like giving bad reports but the mucky duck is just okay. I've eaten there at least a dozen times. Blackened grouper sandwich. BilletHead and marcus 2

J-Doc Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Oh and try lunch at the Bubble Room. It's across the street from the little street you drive up to get to the Mucky Duck. We've been going to Captiva for years and drove right by it many times and did not try it until recently. We stopped going to Mucky Duck after that. It's a neat place and the food is good. The deserts............that is enough reason to go there alone!!! Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! LittleRedFisherman Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 Man, that looks good and sounds like fun to be had Pete!! There's no such thing, as a bad day fishing!
snagged in outlet 3 Posted March 24, 2016 Author Posted March 24, 2016 We met Steve at 8:30. 4 girls and myself. Steve was great, very patient and let the girls hook up the bait and cast it. Knowing they would flip it in the mangroves. Just a great friendly person. We caught 2 catfish, 2 snook, 1 mangrove snapper and a jack. The jack was a good fight for my little wife, she couldn't believe how small it was when she finally got it in. We had many snook on for a while with several jumping out of the water and throwing the bait. Oh! The girls caught two birds because they couldn't yank the bait out quick enough. We all just had a great time. Overall an A plus trip considering 5 people in a flats boat. Headed out with just myself and my 17 year old daughter tomorrow. Pete J-Doc and Quillback 2
