Flatbottom Boy Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 A friend and I got out today for a little while on Taney. We boated up to the dam, which I had never done before. After the fishing today I will definitely make it a point to try it again. The fishing was awesome on 1/8 oz jigs both all white and pink/white. We would boat up to the cable then drift just past the boat ramp and we picked up a few fish every drift. My fishing buddy is a bass nut but I think he is hooked on Taney trout now! Check out the bellies on a couple of these fish! Foghorn, BilletHead and duckydoty 3
Seth Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 We had a stellar day as well. White and gray jigs, 4" jerkbaits and a flicker shad were our baits of choice. I'm not sure how many fish we caught, but I would say 60+ is being conservative. The best fish of the day was a 20" brown my buddy landed. I'd guess 2/3 of the fish were caught above Fall Creek, but our two best, the 20" brown and an 18" rainbow came from below Fall Creek on jerkbaits. duckydoty and BilletHead 2
duckydoty Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 Seth, were you in the orange (now I'm color blind) legend? If so, I saw you boat by Phil's a couple of times and thought that was you. You should have entered the Masters tournament. That brown and big rainbow with some kickers would have put you in there. Eric, glad you went up top. Wasn't too bad was it? I was jonesing pretty bad to be up there yesterday. Seth 1 A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Ozark Trout Runners

I would have loved to fish it, but we ended up bringing our dads along so that put four of us in the boat.
Flatbottom Boy Posted January 24, 2016 Author Posted January 24, 2016 Awesome fish Seth! You guys boated right by us a couple times. I was in the 16ft jon with the 25 yammy on the back. The first time you came up you had some guy down on all fours in the front of the boat. Yeah Duane it was well worth it. Thanks for the tips on the jigs....turns out I didnt tie enough!
duckydoty Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 I tied up about 1500 last week and tha was not enough either A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Ozark Trout Runners
