Where do you guys get those weird measurement rulers?

Hey Harris,

I have been jonesing for one of your lower Meramec reports as I do enjoy them :).....the Hawg Troughs I started using for CPR tourneys and I came to love them....they cradle the fish very good and give you the most accurate measurement of a caught fish your gonna get. Your average fisherman would have looked at the smallie I caught yesterday and said that is a 20+ inch fish for sure because of it's girth and actual length......they can be somewhat cumbersome though because of their length but a cool fishing item none the less.

Here are some of the cheapest I have seen but do some research.....you might be able to find one cheaper?? http://www.austinkayak.com/products/8737/Hawg-Trough-Fish-Measuring-Device.html

Well, aside from getting skunked out of the kayak (not even seeing any fish much less catching them) in super clear water around route 66 state park (could see the bottom in 6 feet of water), the next Meramec report might have to wait a bit. Going to be at least until next week since I'm working the weekend. But I'll report back when it does happen. Anyways, thanks on giving me a lead. I'll search around to see if there's any cheaper, but it helps a lot just to know what those things are called.

Cabela's sells the Hawg Troughs for $3 more than Austin Kayak if you don't want to mess with shipping costs.

A noteworthy thing from yesterday was Aarons big spotted bass spit out a huge crawfish during the fight that was actually still alive, and swam away in panic mode.

Yeah that was cool....feeding like they are at the old country buffet.....it sounds like from Al's report the fish were feeding  today just about everywhere  in the river....pretty amazing.
