Do you guys change the hooks on the STX? They seem to bend pretty easy, or is that what you want for when you get them hung up? Also, have any of you added a feathered treble on the back? Thanks. With 11 inches of snow we got hit with yesterday, plenty of time to modify baits. Thanks.

The hooks are junk on them. Owner Stinger ST 36's in size 6 for me.

And not you do NOT want to hooks to bend out on them. The bait is only running 4 to 8 feet at most under the surface so you should be able to get it out of any tree top you snag (and it WILL HAPPEN) with just your rod. If not whip out the lure retriever.

Picked up 3 STX tonight from Walmart at 7.49 a piece ...pro blue...Herring bone chartreuse...purple flash...didnt see the black star dust shad...

Jerkbaits more than any other lure imo need good hooks as so many of the bites come as the lure is sitting still and it doesn't have that yummy mouth feel and tasty scent that plastics have.  I have had great luck with rc stx, and xraps.  I only bought 1 mcstick and it didn't suspend well.  So I didn't buy anymore.
