While the wife and daughter wanted to go shopping for prom dresses with my Mother in Law, my son and I decide we'd go fishing.....tough decision right?..:)   So we headed off to the river, and on the way, I made a last minute call to fish at a different place.  I had a feeling it might produce a few fish!   So we motored up to a spot I hadn't fished since last year, it usually a good springtime spot, and with the abnormally warm winter, I thought it might produce.  Well, it did produce some fish, catching an occasional smallie and my son had just caugt a nice 13 incher right before this happened.   He set the hook into this and I thought he was hung up at first, till a saw a huge brown tint moving around in the fairly clear water, needless to say I got pumped!!   I'd say the battle lasted about 5 minutes, at one time he wanted me to take the rod, but I urged him to hang in there!  Only thing I did was net it for him!   He is showing some skills at 7, I couldn't of been happier!  A memory was made today, I hope he never forgets it, I know I won't!

Congrats to the little man... And I'm glad he's growing up with the catch and release mentality instilled in him! Nice job Bret!
