Not a TR regular. How is this upcoming cold snap paired with dropping water going to effect the bass fishing this weekend in the midlake area?

DChance, I hope not much because I'll be around the mouth of Indian Point.  The sun will still be out most of the week so it should help.

In my experience, the fishing will be tough. They're calling for a cold rain in the forecast for Friday with overnight lows in the low 30's. That's gonna drop the water temp down considerably. Anytime the weather has been warm for a few days, then a sudden cold rain shocks the lake like that, I've never caught fish. They seem to be on lock jaw because of the sudden drop in temps. That's my experience anyways, it's ultimately up to you. It's your gas and your time you'll be spending.

m&m is right on the sun helping to warm things up. I've been out every day this week and  two things have been consistent every day even with the wind shifting from south a couple days to north then back to the sw. They hit first thing in the morning until 11 and then up shallow in the late afternoon. We've been catching them in coves all the way to the back the later it gets. Spinners in the morning and Rock crawlers 6 to 8 fow. and spinners shallow. Nothing over 2 1/2 lbs. I've been fishing the white from shell knob to pt.23. Parallel to the bank in about 8' and bouncing the crawler has gotten alot of bites in the afternoon.  Water Temps have dropped down to 55 and 56 from 60. Good luck.

Bigmo, thanks for the details. I hope to duplicate that around the dam area Saturday morning.
