m&m Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 Ketchup, thanks for the report. Springtime weather! One day the fish are shallow the next day they slide out to the deep a bit. Saturday should be the 2nd day of stable weather so maybe that will help. Good luck in the club tourney. Mike
Bill Babler Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 Great report, thanks. Both Bill Beck and Rick Lisek guided the Aunts to Kimberling area yesterday and said it was like a kick in the privates. Both reported only way they could catch them was on the Rig. Bill had a mature fisherman that had to throw the spinning rod with a very light A-Rig and caught 6 with one over 4 and another several very nice keeps. Rick said his crew had 9 total all on the rig with a couple over 4 pounds. There are lots of Elite anglers here practicing for Bull Shoals. They reported it to be extremely tough yesterday. Lure fishing was pretty much a no go for most of them. Bill said if he had not been able to fish his client with the Rig, he did not think he would have caught a fish. I postponed my trip this morning, with all the fronts and the wind howling, we are going to try the dam area in the morning. marcus 1 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Members BassBlind Posted March 24, 2016 Members Posted March 24, 2016 Bill - I know you have a side gig as a weatherman, what are your thoughts on Friday / Saturday ? Is this weather going to clear up for us and provide some good fishing for Fri - Sun? marcus 1
Bill Babler Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 I believe you all will get it in. Looks like Sunday late before it hits again. Good Luck http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
marcus Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 Holler when your down there Marcus and we will hook up and attempt to locate some of those elusive 9+ pounders. ok u just show me where there at...im going down there to turkey hunt too...have u heard any birds gobbling down around aunts creek or close by yet?
Ketchup Posted March 25, 2016 Author Posted March 25, 2016 Thanks Bill. That Rig just doesn't do me very well, so I stay with what I know. Briefly chatted with another guy trolling past me that was throwing it, and said he had caught a few decent fish with it near the dock we were working past each other by. This cold snap will do something to the fish. Most likely push them out just a tad. Marcus, we heard 2 gobbles in that area. Those were the first birds I have heard this spring. Good luck hunting. We will be out in our blind also. You can always hunt til 1, then fish til dark. Full days in the outdoors. Nothing better. marcus 1 TinBoats BassClub. An aluminum only bass club. Fish24/7 Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 last week down at B.S. gobblers everywhere yep, they have been gobbling big time for a few weeks now marcus 1
balsabee Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 I'd keep throwing that crankbait in the back of those pockets in Aunts Creek. Shallow gravel almost near the very back still had good fish on them on Sunday afternoon. Water temp had dropped to 51 degrees and the fish had not moved from shallow water. dtrs5kprs, marcus and Champ188 3
