marcus Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 ok i say this is gonna be a tough series lets just say i'm glad we didn't play dallas in the first round.....there a fast team a real fast team the blues should do all they can to take away the middle of the ice and not get caught chasing on the outside and along the boards.seems like if you get caught doubling up guys on the boards dallas will get you every time so with that being said i say we play how can you put it a zone "D" like if you roll a 5 on a dice. the blues are not the better team in this series but i think there gonna do there best to win it. if we beat dallas the cup is ours! dallas and washington are the best 2 teams right now in my opinion so if we beat them i would be impressed. LGB!!!
moguy1973 Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 Blues handled the Stars pretty well all season with exception to one game around Christmas with a banged up team. I think they will do just fine if not better than what they did against the Hawks. marcus 1 -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
Members MattS Posted April 26, 2016 Members Posted April 26, 2016 Blues matchup VERY well against the Stars. Stars are banged up (Seguin) and the Blues are coming off a physical and emotional series. I think we'll handle them just fine. marcus 1
stlfisher Posted April 28, 2016 Posted April 28, 2016 The Stars are dangerous and they can score in bunches. However, their defense and goal tending is a bit suspect and not nearly as strong as the Hawks. We need to avoid getting in a shootout and if we can I like our chances.
jpb2187 Posted April 28, 2016 Posted April 28, 2016 Blues gave up 2 goals per game on average to the Stars this season - Lowest of all but one other team in the NHL. Note that this includes Seguin in the lineup and Blues players such as Caron, Paajarvi, Jaskin, Bortuzzo) The D Men of Dallas come in at a daunting average of 6' - 190lbs.

I expect the Blues to beat Dallas and I hope the Blues play for the Cup, but it aint ever easy in the playoffs. My Pens match up well against The Caps and held Ovie to zero points in 5 games this year. I doubt they can sustain that in the playoffs, but they seem to know how to play against him. The Caps are the better team, but the Pens are playing their best hockey right now. I hope they can get it done. Johnsfolly 1 Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. joeD Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 One game at a time fellas. Once you look forward and believe what people say about you...BANG...you're home and playing golf. One game at a time. marcus 1
marcus Posted May 2, 2016 Author Posted May 2, 2016 series all tied up. it seems like its a coin flip it could go either way "call it in the air"....game 3 will just be another night of me screaming at the t.v eating junk food!
moguy1973 Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 Nah, the Blues fell back and tried to hold the lead without pushing on like they did in the first period. If they play the whole game like they should for 60 minutes they are pretty dominant against the Stars. Stars can't break the trap if the Blues play it right. -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
