bassfisher Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 I'm pretty satisfied with the park rangers keeping the place safe you know they got a lot to do besides go around checking everybody for fish. That's not their only job!!!!!!

That's not their only job!!!!!! It's not their job at all!!!! It's the conservation agents job. Ever hear of Operation Game Thief???? The people breaking the rules are counting on people that ignore what they're doing. The only reason I don't report them is because I would spend more time on the phone than fishing. I just think it's funny how opening day they saturate the park and the rest of the year they aren't anywhere to be found. bassfisher 1
upstream Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 It's not a choice of to each his own but of breaking the law or not . Rules and regulations are there for a reason . Wrench must be a local that doesn't care about R/R s either .
brittsnbirds Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 Next time one of the POS' breaks into your car or steals one of your fly rods/spinning rods don't call the Ranger, Sheriff, Game Warden etc., just walk away because there is no reason to get involved or report it! When those nuckleheads break the conservation laws its victimizing all of us. Especially the ones that do it in front of their kids. Maybe if you do report the violators then maybe it will be that one time that they do catch them and have been trying to for some time. Just like the POS that I watched breaking into cars down at the gauge house. Told a Park Ranger who passed through what I saw and an hour later they had him. Been trying to get him for some time but no body would call or observed anything! We can't do it all by ourselves (Law Enforcement) we don't shut off the light when our shift is over we continue to do the job even when we are off duty. It would help ALOT if "John Q Citizen" would be more involved rather than turning a blind eye to problems. Or the time when a car load of meth heads pulled in camping. Crap everywhere, obviously out of their element. Talked with a Park Ranger friend who checked it out. Funny it was a couple from Jeff City that were on the run from many Felony warrants. They got a new camping spot at Jeff! So talking to and reporting suspicious things sometimes pays off! Rant off! Flysmallie 1

NoLuck Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 I've never consumed alcohol anywhere except in the campground at my camper or in the cabins. Although, I see tons of people doing it. But I may have exceeded the speed limit getting down there from STL. Is that the same thing as not following the regulations?? Did I take away anything from public resources speeding.??? By me speeding does that mean that everyone else had to drive at less speed since I used part of their speed???
bassfisher Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 Let's not get testy here I was mainly, giving my opinion and yes I know one of the park rangers, even the highway patrol drives through, I've never had a problem down there, anyway wife went down today said fishing was slow and water was up, water temp change always screws them up any way
bassfisher Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 And we were on the subject of illegal fishing and somehow got on to thiefs, sorry if you had bad luck, I have myself as well.

ramman123 Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 park rangers are limited to what they can do. Conservation or deputies take care of the rest brittsnbirds 1
