Finally got into some fish early this morning when my wife let me get out by myself in one of the east branches a couple miles south of the dam.    Nothing real big. Bunch of short spots and one white bass that were busting shad.  All in between 10-25' of water on a 1.5 sexy shad square bill.

Nice. I couldn't get out today. Too many projects going on right now.

What was the water temp?

Interesting measuring board.  Looks like it "cradles" the fish and keeps them off the carpet.  Where did you get it?

Donna, not sure the brand that the OP has pictured but a similar (if not the same) is made by Hawg Trough. Lots of the 'Yakers use them for the picture verification weigh in system that they have all seemingly adopted as the standard these days.

They have them at Cabela's and I'm sure locally as well. Would think they have them at The Extreme Outdoors (maybe Richie can verify) as they seem to be hip to the kayak crews needs.

Donna, you can get the measuring boards/Hawg Troughs at Ozarks Extreme Outdoors on Indian Point, just south of Silver Dollar City.  We use them all the time for our kayak tournaments.

Thanks for the fishing report.  Some good looking fish there, even if they weren't huge.  Getting out on the water makes it all worth it.

I got my Hawg Trough at HOOK1 kayakfishinggear.com .  Was the cheapest I could find online. You can make them float by getting some 1/2" foam insulation and hot glueing it into the channels on the underside of the board.

The cove I caught these fish in was about 69-70 degrees around 7am. We did run up to Jacques Creek this afternoon and it was much clearer than down in Long Creek with about 8' of clarity and the temps there were about 67 degrees.

I like that measuring board, makes a nice fish pic with the white background.

Wonder how they measure up to a Golden Rule board (sorry, had to).

You'd think an inch would be an inch, but that doesn't always hold true. Would be great to hear if anyone has compared the two.
