Out early today. Did well on Rt 12 sandbar with schooling spots. Really tore up a Pop R. Headed to PC through the fog. Was very erie to see 150 boats floating around waiting to be released. Props to the officials as it would have been really dangerous to try and start in the fog. They finally got out around 8:30. Caught a few more bass but my Ned bite was off today. WT still 65-67.

Glad you got to experience the topwater. I was one of those boats sitting there waiting. It was the right call to delay takeoff but still frustrating. I got one keeper on top and by the time I got it in the livewell the sun was shining bright. Killed the top for me.

I could feel everyone grinding their teeth and changing their game plans. Everybody probably retied at least once while waiting. How'd you do?

Haha yeah. There were a ton of topwater baits tied on.

I had five for 9.23lbs. It was a serious grind. I decided I was sticking to my plan that has been working for me, but one that needs lots of wind and or heavy clouds. (Not to mention missing topwater time the first two hours) Neither of which happened at all.

I ended up junk fishing and then bailing on my primary area the last hour of the day. In that last hour we got our best two fish. That's how it goes. Always a learning game.

Not everyone was grinding their teeth...

I took all 5 life jackets in the boat and made one heck of a pillow in the floor of the boat.

Laid my pretty little head down, and kicked my feet up on the front deck.

I was fast asleep from about 7:00 until 8:15....

Just long enough of a nap that every bit of my "want to" stayed away once we launched!

I've had some of my best naps stretched out in the boat. Slept out a 2-hour storm in a Central Pro-Am derby at Truman Lake one time. :D

I've considered making a large painted sign that says "I'm not dead, I'm sleeping" that I could put up in the boat while I was napping. The multiday daylight to dark trips can be exhausting.
