Well I been fishing Stockton almost every weekend all spring. Usually I can catch shallow crappie about turkey season. I haven't found any shallow fish yet. I'd figure with almost 70 degree water they'd be spawn to post spawn and the bass would be prespawn to spawn. Are they behind or did I just miss it

I fish mostly LOZ which is roughly the same latitude and I never found them on beds this year either; closest was Mid-April when they were staged on the closest wood to the bank.  I cleaned 30 over the weekend on LOZ(caught deep trolling in spawning basins) almost all of which were females; about half had spawned, a few looked ready to drop and the balance appeared to be reabsorbing their eggs or at least they had turned a lighter color and appeared to be shrinking.  There were fry showing up deep already and these fish were feeding on them.   Anyway,  my point being I think the shallow window has passed.

I caught three keeper crappie on Saturday that still had eggs.  They were suspended in deeper water.  I'd say some have spawn and others are about to.  Sort of depends on where they are on the lake.

6-9 was where most beds  where   I honestly don't know but I would suspect  still bedding in lower lake  some on the last banks  they were 2 weeks ago any how

surface water cooled  during this period  water turned some  but the lower column still had what was needed

From what I have seen at LOZ the spawn is over.  Already catching fish on deep brush.  Those females that have not spawned aren't going to this year.  I'd think Stockton would be similar.

Fished Stockton yesterday. Caught 10 keepers set 3' deep with minnows and slip bobbers. They were tight to timber. Switched and went deeper about mid-day. Caught a bonus 18" walleye and a few small crappie. Also caught several keeper bass on minnows too, but tossed them back.

Largest crappie measured 13.5". Not a bucket full, but a decent day.

Around the full moon in April I caught a lot of crappie right on the bank in spawning coves close to the cc ramp by Greenfield.

Saturday night I went back to those banks since it was the full moon again and caught more. The size wasn't a good, but they were there. Ended up keeping 4, but probably caught 15. Threw a couple back that were so full of eggs they were about to bust open! Caught a nice walleye and a couple cats to eat, and a few whites. Good evening fishing with the boys!

The eggs in the female crappie were very pale and almost white. I don't think I have ever seen them look like that before. Does anyone know what causes this?

We brought 12 crappie home last Thursday and they were all males. Their sacs were pretty much empty. Most of the crappie we've caught this spring have been in 7' to 8' of water. We have guessed they spawned probably around last years bank line, (before the water came up).

Went yesterday and lots of people out enjoying the day. Swim beach was pretty full at Cedar.  We caught a lot of small fish.

Short crappie, short walleye and short bass. I did have one black that was a little over 16". Brought home 4 crappie and a 4# channel that puked up 4 chicken bones in the live well.   I also caught a Goggle-eye. First one ever at Stockton. Didn't even know they were in the lake.

Saw a Price Heating and Air truck at the parking lot when we left. Is that your's dprice??  Hope you had a better day at catching than we did.
