You must be secretly sponsored by Matzuo. The sickle hook is no more magical than the Whopper Plopper, else every maker of single-hook lures in the industry would be using them. More fish are lost because of mismatched tackle and poor fighting technique than any hook can be blamed for.

I am not impressed with sickle heads. I have fished them on worm harnesses and they do not increase the percentage of hook ups and they do not increase the percentage brought to hand. The one good thing I can say is that they bend out of a snag more easily.

Great point Quill, I touch up every single hook I use, no matter the bait. Factory sharp is not razor sharp!
