Quillback Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 Went fishing today with OA member Muddy Water, launched at the crack of dawn and fished until about 1130. We started with top waters, had a 30 minute TW bite off a gravel point, we might have got 7 or 8 on the TW, and Muddy got a largie that was around 2.5 on the TW. After the TW bite died we tossed Keitechs, well I tossed Keitechs and Muddy threw some different swimmers at them. We fished some docks ends that were over deep water and then a rocky point with deep trees. Keitech fish were deep, usually suspending 20-30 feet down over 50-70 FOW. We did have a huge school of black bass get on top for about 5 minutes, just enough time for us to get 3 or 4 on the TW stuff. I also got a couple to eat a Finesse worm on a drop shot. We caught largies and spots, never did get a brown fish. Not quite the bite that it was Friday, I think we got 35-40 between the two of us. I did get a 4.5 lb. LM on the Keitech. Fishing got tough around 11 AM. I forgot to note the water temp, probably 82-83. Hammer time, Diamond City Fisher, cheesemaster and 7 others 10
jolicious Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 I finally made it over towards Big M area Saturday 6-11. Fished from 7:00 or so until about 2:00. I sore lipped a bunch of little fish. so it might be a good time for folks to go catch good ones before the little one start eating again
Bill Babler Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 Had the pleasure of seeing Muddy and Quill up the White this morning. We for sure had a love hate relationship with the fisheys. We would have loved to caught more and bigger, and hate it that we didn't. I had fish schooling around me like cattle in a pen and just could not get them to eat the scraps we threw to them. They were bounding off the sides of the boat chasing shad and we just picked off very few of them. After speaking to Jeff, we slowed down a bit and started catching more on a Dixie Jet. You had to let this spoon drop. Yes they were still chasing around us, but most of our bites happened about like where Muddy was tagging them. Just a thunk as the spoon fluttered down in the past 20 ft. range. Ended the day with around 40 but that sounds better than it was. I think we had two decent LM keeps and the rest were really young. Lost fish after fish we had hooked and had them just flat pull off any top water we were throwing. When you reeled it in regardless of the color of the bait there would be 1/2 dozen just following. Surface temps in the 81 to 82 range. Daryk Campbell Sr, Muddy Water and Nimrod Nick 3 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Members Nimrod Nick Posted June 13, 2016 Members Posted June 13, 2016 Great reports, next best thing to being there. If could go tomorrow I would go up the white and try to spoon up some bass. Sounds like conditions would be good for some vertical fishing and maybe hook some bigger ones under those smaller chasers. Pure speculation on my part, but its nice to dream. I will have to wait until the Bfl on 6-25-16. Love to read the reports. Thanks to all.
Hammer time Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 That fish looks like a spawner, fat and bloody tail?
96 CHAMP Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 You guys must be retired. way to go, glad you had a great time
Pepe Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 Had a similar day. Evening bite was good. What a difference from trying to fish the weekend. Homemade 3.25" paddletail Swimbaits caught most of them, but the WP was hot this evening. Nimrod Nick, Quillback and Daryk Campbell Sr 3
Bill Babler Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 I don't think I'm retired. Just tired Nimrod Nick and LD Fisher 2 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
