Mike jones Posted June 25, 2016 Posted June 25, 2016 Well, I am sad to report that there was a 0% survival rate at the crappie tournament weigh-in. Every fish at the weigh in was murdered...sentenced to death by frying in hot grease!!?? in the everett tourney, it took just shy of 20 pounds for the win. ? My daughter won the youth division with 7.75lbs and we should have got a check in the adult division also but I didn't fish a clean tournament. Top water early and then mixed in the ned rig later in the day. Fished from prairie to horseshoe and also stopped at the bridge piers to let my daughter catch a few spots in the shade!!! dan hufferd, Dan the fisherman, Quillback and 3 others 6

Quillback Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Great to see you and your daughter had a good time. 20 lbs. is a darn good bag for this time of year in a day time tourney.
Johnsfolly Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Love to see your daughter holding those fish. Keep them fishing if you can. Congrats!

I stayed true to my word brother - went up to the dam, missed a couple nice hits on top water, and was loaded / headed home by 11:00
Champ188 Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 Donna and I fished the Everett series its first year. Twice we were home and on the golf course by 1 p.m. Such epic lack of interest is why my efforts are concentrated elsewhere these days. jolicious and Mike jones 2
Mike jones Posted June 28, 2016 Author Posted June 28, 2016 The best finish my daughter and I have had on the adult side was 7th last year when we were on the smallmouth pretty good. She has finished 1st and 2nd in the youth several times...I'm trying to take advantage of her wanting to fish tourneys with me before she hits that 'it's not cool to fish with Dad' age! Lol!!

You never know when that will happen but it is for sure NOT a certain age. My 17 year old will go anytime but my 12 year old has decided she is done. Keep at it and she may never quit. Mike jones 1
