Eric82 Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 I am floating the BP for the first time this weekend. 6x to Ross (canoe hatch section i know but floating with hatchers so anyway). Is there anything different/unique to the BP i should take into consideration when choosing flies? Im assuming the usual crayfish patterns, woolly buggers will work? Is there usually a good topwater bite? Also that section, 6x to Ross, is that for the most part a more wide open section with depth and not a lot of dragging? I know we got our fairshare of rain last weekend. The reason i'm asking is that i have outriggers for my yak that lend well to standing and fishing but i wouldnt bring them on places like the upper current due to the current and turns etc. Is this section of the Piney pretty slow? Either way i'll be finding out myself soon enough but any little info helps!! Tight lines!!! Eric
Gavin Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 Not sure what the present level is, but that's usually a flat water float with short riffles and long slow holes.Hit the shade lines with a big popper. Eric82 1
Eric82 Posted July 5, 2016 Author Posted July 5, 2016 Cool thanks Gavin. Currently it looks like the level had spiked cause of the rain but it looks to be going down quickly. fingers crossed.
joeD Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 So, what happened Eric? Don't drop us like the neighborhood "practice girl,"
Eric82 Posted July 12, 2016 Author Posted July 12, 2016 HAHA!!!! Didn't catch any of any size but caught a good amount and they were purty. Crayfish colored leeches, blond leeches, and poppers did the trick. BilletHead, Flysmallie, Smallie Seeker and 2 others 5
