Members DownStream Posted August 10, 2016 Members Posted August 10, 2016 I floated below the trout area on Sunday and it was running at about 800 and muddy. Fishing wasn't great.
Haris122 Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 Dropped by Unger park after work to go for a quick run and fishing afterwards, and situation was the same, the Meramec in the Kirkwood/Fenton area was still somewhat high, and plenty muddy. Hog Wally 1

I took a short run by my house, stclair area, 1' visibility and up 1'. Topwater bite and crank bait bite.
Hog Wally Posted August 15, 2016 Author Posted August 15, 2016 The river is consistently murky all this year. Only a couple weeks of perfect water since December flood. I'm guessing I have caught 40 fish 18" or bigger since December so........... I guess I'm a dirty water fisherman? Headed to Osage right now for something different. Eric82 1

MOFishwater Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 Made a few casts yesterday, met a couple guys loading up their boat. Said they had been up and down and had no luck, water was coming up quick. I fished about an hour until rain returned, no luck and really nothing happening in terms of fish jumping/swirling, etc. Same spot was under about 10ft of water this morning. Oh well...

I got skunked the last time I fished the mud while others caught several 3+ brown and green fish. It is normal for me to atruggle in the mud, but I don't think I have ever blanked while fishing in the warmer months when it was high and dirty.
