jtram Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 Sooooooo......... I went fishing today. Put in at Houseman around 730 in blanket fog. Idled my way up a ways, started fishing below Spider Creek. Picked up a few here and there until the fog broke, and it was ON!!!! #16 UV olive sowbug was the ticket, followed by rusty midge, red midge, a few other colors in sizes 14-20. The smaller the more bites, the bigger had a couple quality fish. Caught a ton of fish, had a blast with my 3 legged buddy. Quit around 3. Btw, last 2 pics. Rainbow (i think) or oddly colored baby brown? Quillback, Phil Lilley, BilletHead and 3 others 6
Quillback Posted August 13, 2016 Posted August 13, 2016 Looks like a brown in the last 2 pics. A quick way to tell the difference between a brown and a rainbow, is that bows will almost always have spots on their tails, and browns do not. trythisonemv 1
jtram Posted August 13, 2016 Author Posted August 13, 2016 Another shot.... in the water I thought brown, out of water..... not sure.
Ham Posted August 13, 2016 Posted August 13, 2016 I thought it was a Brown when I saw the first post. I still do. Man, if you can catch em there, you can catch em anywhere. Good for you! jtram 1 Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Quillback Posted August 13, 2016 Posted August 13, 2016 Yep, still a brown. Can't see all of the tail, but from what I can see there are no spots on it.

Ham Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 I'm sure I could re-learn some flyrod stuff from you and show you Zig Jig stuff if the flow is UP. I'm also handy if you run into a technical issue like car or boat trouble EVEN IF I was not able to fish with you. Never hurts to know a local. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future.
