DADAKOTA Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 Plenty of poop in the Rock and most other lakes. All the chemicals that wash in from businesses, vehicles, fertilizers, boat exhaust. oil. gas, etc. are also polluting the lakes. A good rain really washes down the miles of parking lots and pavement. Seen more than one boat that was submerged over the years. All those fluids, oils, and greases really leave a sheen on the water. The earth has a way of cleaning up a lot pollutants introduced by man to the lakes, rivers, and streams, but someday she will no longer heal herself..

Old plug Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 Funny you mention the geese Wrench. One time many years ago I and another guy were fishing on Lake Coffeen. There was a very large flight of geese setting on the off in the distance. Suddenly they all rose up in unison coming our direction. About the time they got over us they all pooped in unison. The lake around us looked like a giant shotgun pattern of rocks being thrown in the water. Will never forget that. there was poop all over the boat and us. MOsmallies 1
Members MCrump Posted September 14, 2016 Members Posted September 14, 2016 Wow.... I have been away from the forum for a couple weeks. Wish you guys would have been up to something more productive, like a cure for cancer or something but then again this is a fishing forum. I've always wondered what topics would get the most views/comments/posts.... To challenge this one I think my buddy and I need to get a whole stringer full of keeper smallmouth and take pics of us filleting them and cooking them. He's always said nothing will get us crucified on here faster than that and I've agreed. (I know some people keep smallmouth and as long as the law is being obeyed I don't care either way. But as for me there is no reason to worry gentlemen, I'm no smallmouth fisherman, most days not much of a fisherman at all, although I do love being out there trying it.)
