Hit up BSC Saturday. Hooked up on 6 only 3 to hand. Plus plenty of minnows. EHC and dropper rig. They were popping at the dry but then would hook up on the dropper. Which was pheasant tails and rainbow warriors. I used my A&F Banty 4'4". Taylor made for this stream. Didn't lose tooooo many flies which is always good. Walked upstream from N into some water I've never been before. Beautiful day out. Slowly but surely I'm figuring this creek out...

You just keep bringing in those wild trout. Great post. I have only fished BSC once and felt like I lost a year's worth of tackle, but did land a 13-14" rainbow. I would love to see what you could do on Barren Fork creek. Have you ever fished BFC? I only caught one rainbow there as well also about 14". I was fishing spin tackle with flies and jigs on both streams.

i know what ya mean about losing a lot of flies there... I was fortunate to only lose 4 flies that day.  As to Barren Fork it is still on my list to fish for the first time this year. I usually take about a week off around my birthday in Nov and hit up as many streams on those days. Unless i go up to the driftless area in Iowa, which i really want to do, I want to try Barren and Crane. I haven't fish either yet.  I want to hit up Spring creek again as well. Fished it on my last birthday trip for a few hours and was the only stream that week i got skunked at.

If you decide to go to Barren Fork, send me a PM and I can give you information about the creek.

I had a great time fishing marabous jigs in Spring creek in the fall a couple of years ago. Had fish fighting over them. The fish I landed fought incredibly well, they just did not want to be landed I need to work in time to revisit a bunch of the wild trout streams. Some of the best fighting rainbows that I have encountered in MO.

I stopped at BSC on the way home from a disappointing trip to Maramec springs a couple of weeks ago and fished that same stretch of creek, I did not have the rod I usually use. I had my nine foot, Allan. I didn't catch any trout but I caught a number of minnows on a Copper John. Nine foot is a little long for BSC.
