I wish I had a better report for you all, but it was tuff for me today. I caught 10 or 12 fish with none of them being keepers!!!!  The shorts I did catch were just one or two on about everything that I got wet. I tried a bunch of different things - even things I don't like throwing and nothing helped.

Launched at 6:00 sharp and water was 81.5 with good color.  Thought I was going to do well - but I didn't.  So I decided to come home and watch college football the rest of the day.

Even though fishing was tuff - I love it and will be back next weekend!!!

that is just part of fishing.  there are times when they are just hard to come by, and september fishing on table rock can be the worst month of the year many times.  the bass are in the midst of transitioning from their summer homes and scatter.  scattered bass are much harder to get to bite because of lack of competition.

you did the right thing in trying different presentations and keeping on the move to try to find something working.

It will get better. A lot better !  Usually peaks about deer season up the James. A lot less boats out there and the color in the trees should be nice this year. Nice report. Keep them coming. Wish I could give you a report but have not fished up there this year. Parents lived up across from point 15 for 28 years but  both have passed and house gone.  Sure do miss that part of the lake .

Thanks for the honest report. I've struggled to catch keepers my last couple of trips, too. Donna and I are gonna launch at Eagle Rock tomorrow and see what we can scare up. Hopefully I won't catch myself again.

Cheese, thanks for the honesty in your report. There is always next time.  If we didn't have days like that it would be impossible to get excited when we have good days

Trust me, if he catches himself again, I'm not landing him.  Will just do the Jimmy Houston quick release.
