Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!
Johnsfolly Posted September 25, 2016 Posted September 25, 2016 Were you strolling or trolling those Neds? Hopefully you got some sashimi from that tuna. That's a lake that I want to fish. Looking at the land, I would think that this lake is out west possibly south of the border. I would also assume that is a white marlin. Congrats!
Quillback Posted September 25, 2016 Posted September 25, 2016 I see Mount Whitney in the background, so sure enough you were on Beaver. Kudos to AGFC for stocking those fish! Stump bumper, Johnsfolly and Daryk Campbell Sr 3
Vinsott Posted September 25, 2016 Author Posted September 25, 2016 It is in the north area of the lake between Rocky Branch and the Dam. I brought a rod with 10lb flouro on it, and it was pretty much only good for catching bait fish. And that wasn't an easy task on the tackle either. Had quite a few nice fish on the smaller rod that didn't last too long. Usually when trying to bring in a half pound cabaillto (blue runner) something would grab it and just leave with no stopping. The Chinese have decimated the sardine population down here, so with no bait, not many fish. And the fish are all hungry searching out different sources of food. Very primitive fishing style here with usually only hook , line and bait. (no sinker) Generally dead bait. When I lived in Florida we had to go far offshore for these species, but yesterday we caught a Dorado only a couple hundred yards off the beach. We are in La Paz Mexico off of the Southern tip of the Baja in the Sea of Cortez. Landscape like desert, but we're here in the rainy season and have seen showers everyday. Will be back in the States Wednesday. Hasta la vista, mi amigos. Daryk Campbell Sr, MOPanfisher, Lance34 and 3 others 6
