Gotta do a side by side, but that varies too. Wine is good or not. Out of beer from the weekend so drinking some poisonous wine that my wife likes. Temperanillo just does not hit the right flavor for me. Pouring back in bottle, She will never know the difference.

Tempranillo is like Pinot Noir -> there is a large range of flavors, some earthy and some fruity. The better the wine, the better the balance between them. And like Pinot Noir, I consider them both to be a food wine rather than a stand alone. Of course, what I say about a wine, or what anyone else says about a wine, really doesn't matter. There are only two kinds of wine: wine that you like and wine that should be thrown out.

I had a Tempranillo made by a local winery (Amigoni) that does a good job with things. Didn't make any notes on it, so that means I didn't really care for it. Haven't had a European one though.

Gonna do a SxS on the Marlborough SBs tonight.

Enjoy the test! BTW, do you blindfold yourself or do you have someone else pour the wine?

The way I've done it before when solo is to mark the bottom of the glasses and switch them around randomly and try to think of something else until I lose track. This gets easier as I get older.

It's what you like! Buy more of that and same year. Varies slightly. Have always done tastings with the booze sealed in a paper bag with a number on the bag. Vote for your favorite number but describe each and rank. Would not want to do more than 5-6 at a time in that level of detail though. After that it's time to party and kill your favorites.

They had some cheap brand of cabernet at the store with a 98 rating on it from Wine Spectator.  I bought a couple bottles and man it was great.  The next day it was written up in the newspaper so I went down to fill the truck.  It was on an end cap and the day before there were probably 50 bottles on it.  I got there to get the last 6.  I went home and googled it up and went to other stores locally to find more.  All of them had the other vintage's and I never could get more.  The other vintages were horrible.

Call it a radler, cyclist, shandy or whatever. A pretty tasty summertime concoction.
