Grabbed a box from both of these while I had a 5.00 introductory price for them. There's a pretty clear winner if you ask me.

I cancelled them though, didn't feel like they were worth 15 dollars a month. Looks more like 10 bucks worth of stuff I could walk in and get from Academy or BPS.

I have never joined either.  I believe most items can be bought cheaper than the charges.  I do like the idea of fishing with items that you wouldn't traditionally buy.   When I can guarantee more fishing opportunities, I may decide to join.

I've not tried Mystery Tackle Box, but have been a member of Lucky Tackle Box since March or April. I've gotten some really good crankbaits, jerkbaits and jointed swim baits. I didn't throw any of the swim baits this year because they were a little much for the waters I fished. A bunch of plastic baits in the boxes too. Last month was a little weak. I'll give it this last time and if I'm not satisfied I'll drop it until next Spring. I'll find out Monday when it gets here. I did catch a bunch of fish on the jerks and cranks. Overall I've been satisfied.

If fishing was easy it would be called catching.

I've done both.  I thought MTB was kind of worthless since they only give you sample packs of plastics and for the most part their hard baits were from companies you've never heard of and they sent colors that really wouldn't work in a lot of places.

I did LTB a couple times now, both times with some sort of promo where I'd get a free box if I did 3 months or something like that.  LTB gives full bags of plastic and this past summer I did get a couple jointed swimbaits that were worth $20+ which made the box worth it, but for the most part they would send stuff I'd never use.

Probably won't do them again.

My wife bought me a 6 month subscription of MTB for Christmas one year... It was a great gift idea and fun to get the box every month. Would I buy it for myself... no... But it was a fun gift idea for someone else. We cancelled after 6 months cause I'd rather spend that money on baits I know I want.
