JohnP Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 Know why it's quiet down here as the ducks haven't shown up and if they have their not where I'm scouting or buddies are hunting and you guys are being tight lipped/fingered about it ;). hearing of a couple being shot or shot at here and there buto no good #'s . still trying to fill a bow tag before a good northern freeze before I get to excited about duck hunting. BilletHead Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 Well John, A few are dying but mostly geese. Here are a couple pictures to wet the appetite. This morning four geese and a gadwall. Then from a week ago Saturday. Eighteen geese so far. If it wasn't for early teal and the first two days of the middle opener our duck totals would suck. Just lacking ducks being around. Too nice although a few more geese showing up . MOPanfisher Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 Keep shooting them yard carp, every one you shoot is one less that can hang around the campgrounds pooping everywhere. BilletHead 1
BilletHead Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 As long as you quit referring to them as carp, more like big bluegill of the sky . Again you may change your mind when they are fixed right. Regardless I will take everyone out that the law allows my freezer to hold. MOPanfisher Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 I don't doubt they are delicious, they are just a pain around the lake and parks. we go out a couple times from mid Mar to mid April to oil the eggs. And they are still yard carp, snows/blues are sky carp. but then I have eaten my fair share of actual carp too. Johnsfolly 1
Members Slippery Posted November 28, 2016 Members Posted November 28, 2016 I hunted 4 Rivers yesterday and I have never heard it so quiet. It was bordering on creepy. Few ducks were around and flying. None did anything that resembled duck hunting.
Fish Bork Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 I hunted Warsaw on Sunday morning and it was horrible, saw 4 mallards that sat on the treatment ponds and about 3 groups of divers that had no intentions of landing anywhere near us Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana.
Members Buck Posted November 30, 2016 Members Posted November 30, 2016 Hunted the south zone opener at Taney and put in at Rockaway, by 4:30 there were already five boats there, which is more than I'd ever seen. It was a zoo and there were less than ten rounds of shots on the whole lake the whole time we were there. Won't be back there until we get a nice arctic blast. Four Rivers has been very slow as well recently. Slippery 1
