Members kbillb Posted December 9, 2016 Members Posted December 9, 2016 Just curious if anyone has fished the Lew's Tournament Lite Speed Spools........LG1H or LG1SH? I see Cabela's has them marked down to $119 from $179.
Champ188 Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 I've not tried those and don't know how they compare, but I've had 4 or 5 of the TS1H's for about 5 years now and they are holding up well. Really happy with them.
vernon Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 ^ Not sure if we're talking about the same reel (too many numbers and letters anymore) I've got four of the Tournament Pro's (the $199 version) - two from 2015 and two from 2016 and they're all I carry in the boat these days. Really like em'. "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups." George Carlin "The only money ever wasted is money never spent." Me.
Champ188 Posted December 10, 2016 Posted December 10, 2016 Thanks, kbillb. Now you've done it. With 2 new rods coming tomorrow, what was I supposed to do? Put old reels on them? Not hardly. Done went and pulled the trigger on two of those $179-down-to-$119 jobbers. Guess we'll see if they're any good. LOL magicwormman 1

LOL Are these the super secret rods that we dare not mention their name????? If so why are you so freely sharing what reels you are putting on them? Secret's OUT! Or at least half.

I'm telling you, this guys the best at everything he does. Or whatever the heck it is that he does. Not sure which! Champ188 1 "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups." Champ188 Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 OK, OK ... the rods are Denali Kovert LT's in a 7-2 finesse jig model and a 6-9 spinnerbait model. Picked 'em up yesterday from a great friend. Was briefly able to test fire the 7-2 and loved it. It's a M power with fast action. Plans are to use it as a Wart/Rock Crawler rod. So far, so good. big c and magicwormman 2

KOVERT.....how fitting. You sneaky dog. Have never tried any Denali Rods myself but seem to get good reviews anytime I run by a thread on BBC or on TW reviews. vernon and magicwormman 2
Sore Thumbs Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 No one has mentioned the Revo Winch. I have one and it's great. 5:4to 1 ratio I believe. About double the drag strength over regular Revo. I also have a Curado E7. Fantastic reel as well. Go with what is comfortable to your style. Can't go wrong.

The only thing that gave me pause on these Tournament Lite's was the carbon vs the aluminum frame. Hopefully they will hold up as well as some of the other reels in the Lew's lineup. Champ188 1
