first of all sorry for the late report. put in at Bridgeport around 9am water temp 44, fished the rip rap by the bridge(cause it's just something I have to do), no luck there, went on up to peachtree, threw jerkbait, wiggle wart, and rock crawler-NO LOVE! decided to make a run up the James, stopped before i got to walnut springs. With the wind coming out of the north, i just let it push back down river. water temp up there was 42.4, still no love on the hardbaits, i switched to the NED, using my new Ned setup, caught 1 BEAUTIFUL smallmouth.  then the wind picked up more and the river was starting to white cap, and  i had enough. put the boat back on the trailer by 1230, then the wind had died down, go figure.

If that's the 6'6" ML Laguna, you chose wisely. My son has fished one for two years, added another last spring. Good finesse rod for the price. Not so crisp that it will pop light line, but still sensitive enough.

I have the special order 6'4" UL model for crappie and pan fishing. It was a 6'6" run of the mill rod until I let a screen door slam shut on the tip after the first trip using it.

But yeah, for the price they are a nice little rod. Academy carries them and they are $29.99. Academy is always running deals so if you catch them right can probably get them for less. They had Ugly Sticks for $9.98 when I was in the store a few weeks ago and maybe that would have been a better choice as they are door-slam resistant.
