nomolites Posted January 15, 2017 Posted January 15, 2017 I will say that I haven't added any since I heard that; I am likely not alone. I know they don't currently patroI but I am not going to bust my hump dragging and sinking a 30' tree as I have in the past. All someone has to do is drop a dime and then I have problems. I will likely still freshen up the stuff under the dock, but that is probably it. Mike

Mike I think a lot of the guys who sink all the time have pontoons and do it under the cover of darkness. conorsixtakc 1
fishinwrench Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 Everything I do nowadays is done in shallow water, and I do it when the lake is way down in the Winter. I'll get behind the docks and make it look like the surface of the moon. Rock piles and holes. I don't bother with brush because it never stays put, but if there's a big log nearby I'll utilize it in my little landscape projects. conorsixtakc and 96 CHAMP 2

Speaking of which, I wish they would start pulling it down, they started and pulled down couple feet and now pulling water every so often for a few hours but lake staying at same levels

Some are still good after 10+ years, others the holes filled in but the rock piles are still there. A pair of rock piles under a walkway is better than any brushpile could ever hope to be. And a rock pile under a cable is almost as good. The thing about rock piles is they are bass specific. Crappie won't move in on them and dominate that type cover during any time of the year. Add brush though....and then you have crappie hogging the space for 1/2 the Spring. Bass will always hang around a rock pile for awhile because crawdads like them alot. WeekendWarrior 1
Old plug Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 Ive about gotten to old to brish anymore. Like warrior said it is kind of frustrating to do something andeeverybody and theor brother fishes it. Or trys. Brush can be loaded with fish and they will not bite. I like those kind.

We have a rock pile near us that holds some DANDY crappie in the spring. Pre-Spawners stage on it for some reason... Its almost a surefire spot. Dock with lots of brush is near by though conorsixtakc and fishinwrench 2
