Members Leitsout Posted February 2, 2017 Members Posted February 2, 2017 Has anyone had experience with the new MK Ultrex? I'm curious how the new foot pedal feels and functions. What are your thoughts?
Ketchup Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 Go with the Edge. Its stiff, cheap, and weighs alot less....and its cheap. wait i said that TinBoats BassClub. An aluminum only bass club. If interested in info send me a PM.
vernon Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 If you scroll down to the thread titled, "Power Poles or Talons" there's a few comments regarding the Ultrex. I bought one for my Z521c but haven't had a chance to use it yet. I did quite a bit of research before purchasing but my reasons for being sold might not parallel your needs. I also posted a video that was on Facebook of it performing in a pretty good chop but there are quite a few others on youtube that address the different features and benefits. "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups." George Carlin "The only money ever wasted is money never spent." Me.

Pepe Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 Pete Wenners has Motorguide version TM, whatever the wireless smart one is called, he is selling at a low price.
Members Golf Pro Posted February 8, 2017 Members Posted February 8, 2017 I have used the Ultrex on a firends boat and if I could afford it I would put one on my Triton tomorrow. I love the spot lock feature.
rps Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 I own an Ultrex and fished it from July on last year. Cons: Have to use the built in transducer (no down or side scan) Spot lock wanders a bit Pros: You do not need to leave the console to deploy No strain on old or arthritic joints Can troll by fob from the back

The Ultrex still has rope deploy like the Fortrex, hence the name. It also has an updated version of Ipilot that is supposed to be more accurate at holding on a spot than the Ipilot that came on the Powerdrive, Terrova and Ulterra. Consumers have only been able to get the Ultrex for maybe a month. vernon 1
Ham Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 I have a few years minimum before I am in the market to upgrade my existing boat or replace my beloved Bass Cat, but I will be watching for practical reviews of the Ulterra and Ultrex. vernon 1 Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future.
