It hasn't been anything life threatening, but some of my time away has been due to my wife's health. She's needed help with the boys, and I've been working crazy hours. Special projects have been popping up just when I seem to have time to think about fishing, and when you are self employed you kind of have to take the work when the clients want it done, or risk them finding someone who will.

It's the longest fishing drought I've had since I was maybe 12 though. Last week was a bust, my father in law had spinal surgery and is recovering at our house, and he wasn't well enough for me to leave my wife with him and the two boys. I'm hoping to hit it tomorrow. I'm not sure if I'll just drop in at theodosia to maximize my time on the water or drive over to buck creek. I saw something on Facebook about spring creek park being torn up, does anyone know if that means the ramp is un-usable? What ramps are fully functional with courtesy docks right now at this lake level?

Spring creek was fine a few days ago when I put in. The ramps concrete isn't great and has a few little pot holes but not bad.

I've heard several ppl talking as if the Lake wee historically low. It's 4 foot down from previous pool level.

watch where you run. Don't take chances and don't cut corners.

Yeah, I'm used to running at 650-648, I just haven't seen it in a while and since its winter didn't know if anyone has kept the courtesy docks usable. I'm packing up to head down tho, so I guess I'll see how it is tomorrow morning.

The saddle hump near Oakland  is right at the waterline right now a mile out in the middle of nowhere surrounded by 80+ fow, definitely would end someone's day.

That's why at 654 you idle around it and put down 6 waypoints so you know that is a no fly zone or you go old school and look at a map and treat that area like Chernobyl.

occassionally some idiot stacks rocks on that high spot making it unsafe at 654 or higher.

yep, ya'll just keep avoiding that spot. I'm telling tell ya there's no fish there, especially the brown kind lol

good luck today buddy !

reading comprehension is a lost art. There is a huge difference between avoiding a high spot while running and saying a spot is forever fish less. But guess what, there are 10's of thousands of smallies on other spots in Bull Shoals too.
