I got out today around 11am and ran to pt 12 on a hot tip. Of course I saw nothing lol. So I worked my way back like usual.  Frustrated, I sat in the cold rain thinking  about what I should do..... Then I remembered a couple of years back when the condition where like today I caught striper.    I looked back at my notes and there it is, I had caught fish in 5ft or less.   So I continued to move to the very back of the creeks and started casting a hair jig( notes told me to do that).  It was on!  I ended up with 9 quality stripers in about 1 1/2-2 hours.  All casting in 5 feet or less!  Remembering and using old info has really help me catch this big boys. It's never a for sure but man it helps to eliminate water.  Water temp was 47-48  and cold and rain outside. All fish came from the mid section of the lake. Awesome report & pics Dan! Those are some strait studs. Fairly sure we primarily fish the same water. Keep em coming.

Where do ya fish man . For striper in winter I fish from pc to point 12.  Whites from MN to pt 12 and bass all over the lake.  Like the whole lake lol

Mainly Blackburn area south towards the rivers. Bass & crappie usually but always looking for striper. Think I've seen you a few times. Got a piece of property in Joe's creek. I'll idle over next time & introduce myself.

Couple of nice fatties.  I tip my hat to you on figuring out to go back in the coves and toss a hair jig.  Fun way to catch them also.

Those are awesome looking stripers! Do you ever take tag alongs!? I would love to be in the boat to watch those pigs get in the boat. Great job in using your journal to find fish and the techniques to catch them. That validates putting in the time over the years to get on quality fish.

Thanks John.  And ur welcome on my boat n e time.  Its been weird sense I got back.  I can't seem to pattern these fish. I've been out 3 times and one day I couldn't find them and the other two days were completely different from each other.  Maybe with this consistent warm weather coming I'll be able to get something figured out.  ??
